Profiles Project
Purpose: The Profiles Project describes and assesses the response to HIV/AIDS in suburban Washington, DC. Commissioned by the Washington AIDS Partnership, with additional funding from Kaiser Permanente, it:
- Provides profiles that describe how seven suburban Washington jurisdictions are responding to HIV/AIDS, including HIV education, prevention, testing, and care.
- Assesses the extent to which community responses meet benchmarks for sound practice regarding an effective local response to HIV/AIDS.
- Provides an information base for action by local jurisdictions, community-based organizations, and other stakeholders to enhance collaboration, strengthen systems and services, and improve links between HIV/AIDS providers and safety net clinics.
Mosaica carried out this community research project in collaboration with the Regional Primary Care Coalition (RPCC) and with the assistance of an advisory group and a host of HIV/AIDS staff and volunteers at local departments of health, HIV/AIDS service providers and advocates, regional planning bodies, and state departments of health. RPCC is a learning collaborative of primary care coalitions, funders, and resource organizations committed to helping to build coordinated patient-centered systems of community-based primary health care throughout the metropolitan Washington region that provide high quality health care and advance health equity.
