Co-founder of Sol y Soul, a DC-based organization that uses the arts as a tool for community engagement and youth development. Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Wellesley College; Master’s in Public Policy from Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government, with a focus on social policy. Provides and manages budgeting and fiscal management technical assistance for to Mosaica clients. Serves as team member or team coordinator for projects that involve technical knowledge around fiscal management and related areas, such as assessing costs and return on investment and preparing cost estimates and analyses of proposed or actual program models. Plans and implements a wide range of organizational development assistance assignments involving building the capacity of nonprofit organizations to meet “best practice” standards for nonprofit tax-exempt organizations. Assistant Director for Project LINC – Linking Individuals Into Needed Care – cooperative agreement with the Department of Health and Human Services. Managed Mosaica’s national Unmet Need Technical Assistance Center of the Ryan White Technical Assistance Contract (TAC), which helps grantees to estimate, assess, and address the unmet need for primary medical care among individuals who know they are HIV-positive but are not receiving regular care. Served as Mosaica’s Project Director for AIDS.gov (previously The Leadership Campaign on AIDS). Member of the Mosaica’s management and administrative teams. Before joining Mosaica, Director of Budgeting and Personnel at Shatil – the New Israel Fund’s Empowerment and Training Center, in Jerusalem, Israel, which assists social change organizations. Born in Ukraine and raised in Moscow. Immigrated to Israel in 1991. Holds the equivalent of a BA in History at the University of Moscow; MA in Russian and Slavic Studies from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. Left Israel to join Mosaica in fall of 2003. Fluent in Russian and Hebrew.

In charge of the fiscal oversight of Mosaica. Alix first started her finance career in Germany at the Dresdner Bank as a bank officer. Since she came to the United States she held various finance supervisory positions.
She worked 11 years at a local not-for-profit organization where she was the Vice President for Administration a position which included administration, finance and grant management. Before joining Mosaica she worked for a German carbon asset management company in Washington, DC. She lived and traveled widely in the Middle East. She is fluent in German.

Responsible for supervising Mosaica's administrative staff and managing facilities and all administrative systems. Maintains Mosaica’s computer network and website, and is responsible for desktopping of materials. Provides organizational development assistance in office systems and management and assists with computer systems for emerging nonprofit organizations. Graduated from high school in the Washington, DC, area, and has attended numerous computer, desktopping, and administrative training programs.

Involved in program evaluation, community-based research, and organizational development projects. Conducts data analysis for an evaluation of the District of Columbia’s demonstration female condom project and an evaluation of a demonstration project of Our Place DC that assists women who have just been released from prison. Member of the team conducting a state of the region assessment of breast healthcare in the DC area. Assists with organizational development services to the Hispanic Federation (a large Latino membership organization in the Northeast), the Community Learning Partnership (which is working with local partnerships to establish Community Change Studies degree programs in community colleges and other higher education institutions), and the DC Promise Neighborhood Initiative (located in the Parkside-Kenilworth neighborhood of Southeast Washington). Before joining Mosaica, worked for the Fresh Air Fund and the National Children’s Museum. Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Cultural Anthropology with Distinction from Duke University and a Children in Contemporary Society Certificate from the Center for Child and Family Policy at Duke’s Sanford School of Public Policy. Fluent in Amharic.
